Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani extended an official invitation to Tunisian President Kais Saied to visit Iraq, to consolidate Iraqi-Tunisian relations that are witnessing a new phase, strengthened by the signing of nearly twenty memoranda of understanding. Al-Sudani stated, during his meeting with the Tunisian President: "The meeting of the joint committee between the two countries last May confirmed the mutual desire to strengthen relations in various fields, especially in the field of tourism," expressing Iraq's desire to form a joint business council with Tunisia. The Prime Minister's media office stated in a statement: "The meeting discussed bilateral relations between the two countries in all fields, and the importance of developing them to achieve the common interests between Iraq and Tunisia. Regional and international issues of common interest were also discussed." Al-Sudani stressed that "what has been happening in Gaza for more than ten months requires a firm and frank stance towards th e ongoing attacks of the Zionist entity against unarmed civilians," stressing that Iraq stands with the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with al-Quds as its capital. For his part, the Tunisian President referred to the depth of the relationship with Iraq and its history and working to develop it, and looking forward to strengthening economic relations, stressing that canceling the travel visa between the two countries is an important factor in strengthening relations, and he explained that the goals with Iraq are the same, pointing to the convergence of Tunisia's position with the Iraqi position towards what is happening in Gaza. Tunisian President Kais Saied presented a gift to the Prime Minister, which is a painting written on it a poem by the poet Marouf Abdul Ghani Al-Rasafi that embodies the relationship between Iraq and Tunisia. During the meeting, extensive discussions were held on joint files in various fields, where the importance of continuing work and diligent efforts to advance these relations was emphasized, in a way that achieves the common interests of the two brotherly countries.
