Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani directed the development of an integrated plan for the development project of the areas surrounding the (Dura-Yusufiya) expressway. A statement from his media office stated that "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani chaired a meeting during which the development of the areas surrounding the (Dura-Yusufiya) expressway south of Baghdad was discussed, and a detailed presentation was presented on the development project supervised by the Ministry of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Works." Al-Sudani praised "the efforts made during the past period to mature the final idea of this project, stressing the need to expedite the development of an integrated vision from all urban and urban aspects to reach implementation. Al-Sudani directed the preparation of a plan to start work, taking into account not harming the citizens residing in those areas, and at the same time not allowing the emergence of slums." Al-Sudani explained that "the project represents an u rban addition to the capital, Baghdad, within the framework of an integrated plan and program to develop it on all levels, and it also constitutes an organizational case for random paths in land use, towards adopting the optimal economic investment of the land." The statement indicated that the project to develop the areas surrounding the (Dura-Yusufiya) expressway is a development project linking Baghdad to the central and southern governorates, and will include commercial towers and residential complexes, and a transportation network connected to the fourth ring road, the fifth ring road, and the Gaza Bridge linking the two banks of the Tigris River south of the capital.
