Al-Sheikh Engages in Diplomatic Efforts Over U.S. Visa Denial to Palestinian Delegation

Ramallah: Hussein al-Sheikh, Vice President of the State of Palestine and Deputy Chairman of the PLO Executive Committee, has initiated extensive diplomatic engagements with several global and regional powers in response to the U.S. administration's decision to deny visas to the Palestinian delegation for the upcoming United Nations General Assembly meetings in New York.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, al-Sheikh has been in contact with officials from the U.S., Saudi Arabia, France, the United Kingdom, Egypt, Jordan, and the United Nations. He has asserted that the U.S. decision contravenes international law and the Headquarters Agreement, highlighting the fact that the State of Palestine holds observer status at the United Nations.

Al-Sheikh underscored the importance of the U.S. reversing its decision, expressing the State of Palestine's commitment to upholding international laws, UN resolutions, and its peace obligations. This stance is reflected in President Mahmoud Abbas's communications with world leaders, including U.S. President Donald Trump.
