Post: Al-Sheikh and French Consul-General Discuss French-Saudi Cooperation for Palestinian State Conference

Ramallah: Hussein al-Sheikh, Vice President of the State of Palestine, met with French Consul-General Nicolas Kassianides to discuss the latest developments in the collaborative French-Saudi efforts aimed at organizing an upcoming international conference. This conference will focus on the recognition of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the conference is set to take place on September 22 in New York. During the meeting, al-Sheikh highlighted the necessity of intensifying international efforts to ensure the conference's success, describing it as a significant political milestone. This event is seen as pivotal in reinforcing the recognition of the Palestinian people's right to establish an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Al-Sheikh further underscored the essential role of support from France and Saudi Arabia, which he described as vital leverage in achieving the goal of Palestinian statehood.
