Supreme Political Council member , Sultan Al-Sama'i, and the Minister of Culture in the caretaker government, Abdullah Al-Kabsi, launched today,Wednesday, in Sana'a a clean-up and environmental awareness campaign about the dangers of plastic pollution. During the launch of the campaign, which was organized by the Environment and Public Hygiene Program in cooperation with the Executive Office of the National Vision Department, the Ministries of Local Administration, Water and Environment, the Public Authority for Environmental Protection, and the Cancer Control Fund, Al-Sama'i pointed out the importance of this campaign to publicize the dangers of plastic pollution to humans and soil. The senior political member pointed out the need for everyone to feel responsible for the dangers of environmental pollution and the effects of the indiscriminate use of plastic materials. He stressed the need to raise awareness of the importance of expanding agriculture and encourage initiatives aimed at planting trees in fron t of houses and in public spaces. For his part, the caretaker Minister of Culture praised all the initiatives that contribute to raising awareness of the importance of cleanliness and the dangers of plastic bags to humans and agriculture. The inauguration included honoring government and private agencies, the media and community initiatives concerned with the environment, cleanliness , environmental awareness, the opening of a photo exhibition on environmental , awareness-raising activities and events.
