Syrian President Bashar al-Assad met today, Monday, with the head of the Popular Mobilization Forces, Faleh al-Fayyad, and discussed with him strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the areas of combating terrorism. According to the Syrian SANA agency, the meeting discussed effective coordination to control the borders and pursue extremist organizations and their remnants that seek to target the security of Syria and Iraq. Al-Assad stressed that terrorism, which adopts the method of killing and bloodshed, is the same everywhere in the world, pointing out that the supporters of terrorism in Syria and Iraq are the same as its supporters in other places, regardless of the names of those terrorist organizations. Al-Assad praised the steadfastness and strength of the Syrian and Iraqi armies, which were the basis for achieving successive victories against terrorists and their supporters.
