An earthquake measuring 4.5 magnitude on the Richter scale hit the Solomon Islands in the Pacific Ocean on Sunday. The epicenter of the quake was 99 km west of Kirakira, at a depth of 83.4 km, the US Geological Survey reported. So far, there have been no reports of casualties or material damage as a result of the tremor. The Solomon Islands lie in one of the world's most active seismic areas. Source: Qatar News Agency
