Federal Police forces arrested (23) suspects in various cases east of the capital, Baghdad, including foreigners violating residency conditions. The Ministry of Interior stated in a statement: "The security efforts of the Fifth Division of the Federal Police within the sectors of responsibility in the areas east of the capital, Baghdad, resulted in the arrest of (10) suspects according to the legal articles (murder, theft, assault, threat, quarrel, firing live ammunition) and the seizure of (two Kalashnikov rifles and an ammunition store)." It added: "The Division's detachments arrested (13) foreigners violating the residency conditions during a search operation in the Jamila area in Sadr City, indicating that the accused were referred with the seized materials to the competent authorities to complete the investigative and legal procedures against them.
