20 Palestinians Injured by Israeli Gunfire at Food Distribution Point in Central Gaza

Gaza: At least 20 Palestinians were wounded, including one critically, on Friday morning after Israeli occupation forces opened fire on a crowd of civilians heading to a food distribution point near Al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency, the group was seeking food out of desperation, as no aid has reached them since Israel sealed all border crossings into the war-torn enclave nearly three months ago.

The scene at the distribution site was described as chaotic and uncoordinated, with no organized humanitarian mechanism in place. Similar incidents in recent days have seen dozens of Palestinians killed or injured by Israeli gunfire at aid distribution points in southern and central Gaza.

The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 2023 has so far resulted in at least 54,249 documented Palestinian fatalities, with over 123,492 others injured. Thousands of victims are feared trapped under rubble, inaccessible to emergency and civil defense teams due to Israeli attacks.

Israel's attacks continue despite calls from the UN Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
