Post: 18,489 Palestinian Students Reported Killed Since October 7: Ministry

Gaza city: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education reported that 18,489 students have lost their lives and 28,854 have been injured since the onset of Israeli military actions in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank on October 7.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Ministry of Education clarified that over 18,346 students in the Gaza Strip have been killed, alongside 27,884 injuries. In the West Bank, 143 students have been killed, 970 injured, and 740 detained.

Furthermore, the Ministry highlighted that 970 teachers and administrators were killed, 4,533 were injured across the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and more than 199 were arrested in the West Bank.

The Ministry also noted that 160 government schools have been completely destroyed in the Gaza Strip, in addition to 63 university buildings. Additionally, 118 government schools and 93 UNRWA schools were bombed and vandalized, leading to the removal of 25 schools, along with their students and teachers, from the educational registry.

In the West Bank, 152 schools faced vandalism, while 8 universities and colleges experienced repeated raids and vandalism. Consequently, university classes have transitioned to an electronic format due to the ongoing circumstances.
