Youth Suffers Gunfire Injury in Ramallah Village Incident

RAMALLAH: A Palestinian youth sustained an injury from Israeli army gunfire in the village of Dura al-Qar', located northeast of the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah. Security sources reported the incident occurred on Friday evening.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the occupying forces entered the village and used live ammunition, resulting in a 24-year-old man being hit. The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) provided first aid to the injured youth, who was then transported to a hospital after sustaining an injury in the thigh.

The Israeli occupation forces conduct frequent raids on Palestinian houses across the West Bank, often claiming to search for 'wanted' individuals. These operations frequently lead to clashes with local residents. The raids are carried out without the requirement of a search warrant, as the military exercises extensive arbitrary powers.

Under the current Israeli military law, army commanders hold comprehensive executive, legislative, and judicial control over the 3 million Palestinians residing in the West Bank, with Palestinians having no influence over the exercise of this authority.
