WHO Warns of Imminent Gaza Health System Shutdown Amid Fuel Crisis

Gaza: The World Health Organization (WHO) has issued a dire warning about the health system in the Gaza Strip, stating it faces an imminent shutdown if fuel supplies do not reach the area immediately.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the WHO highlighted that no fuel shipments have been delivered to Gaza for over 120 days. This fuel shortage has severely impacted humanitarian operations, notably crippling the healthcare sector and pushing hospitals to the verge of collapse.

The UN organization emphasized the urgent need for fuel to prevent a total shutdown of Gaza's health system. It has called for the immediate delivery of fuel to the region to avert this crisis.

The situation is further exacerbated by ongoing violence in the region. Eighty individuals, including 15 who were reportedly starving, were killed, and numerous others injured following Israeli attacks on Wednesday. These attacks involved shelling and gunfire across the Gaza Strip.

This violence occurs amid a severe humanitarian crisis, described as genocidal by some, resulting from actions by Israeli forces. The death toll in Gaza has reached 57,012, with 134,592 individuals injured, as per the latest statistics.

Medical sources and eyewitnesses report that the Israeli strikes have primarily targeted residential areas and civilians awaiting aid, causing significant casualties in the northern, central, and southern parts of the Gaza Strip.
