Water Sector Faces Significant Damage Due to Israeli Destruction, Officials Report

Ramallah: Water Authority Chairman Ziad Mimi has highlighted the severe impact of Israel's systematic destruction in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank on the water and sanitation sectors. He emphasized the urgent need for rapid plans and interventions, calling for cooperation with partner agencies and institutions to address the crisis.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the remarks came during a meeting in Ramallah with the French Consul General Nicolas Kassianides and key French and Palestinian officials. Al-Mimi provided an update on the current situation and its effects on development projects.

The discussions centered around the progress and challenges of programs and projects funded by the French government in Palestine's water and sanitation sector. Both parties examined the financial and technical hurdles encountered during implementation and outlined necessary steps to advance these projects.

Al-Mimi noted that despite the challenges, efforts continue to overcome obstacles in collaboration with partner agencies. Kassianides expressed appreciation for the progress made and stressed the need for additional financial support to complete strategic projects.
