Ramallah: Vice President and Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Hussein al-Sheikh, welcomed the United Kingdom's announcement of its intention to recognize the State of Palestine in September.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Vice President expressed that this move is seen as a confirmation of the UK's commitment to international law and legitimacy, as well as the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state. It is viewed as a measure that ensures the protection of the two-state solution.
Al-Sheikh stated that this decision represents a significant contribution to strengthening security and stability in the region, and it plays a role in the pursuit of achieving peace.
