Ankara: Vice President Hussein al-Sheikh urged the immediate cessation of Israel's actions in Gaza during a phone call with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Vice President al-Sheikh discussed the latest developments in the Palestinian area with Minister Fidan. He highlighted issues such as the US ban on visa applications for Palestinian passport holders and the importance of increasing global recognition of the Palestinian state at an upcoming international conference.
The discussion included an examination of the dire conditions in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing the necessity for unimpeded humanitarian aid access, the reconnection of Gaza with the West Bank, and the initiation of reconstruction efforts.
They also addressed the critical situation in the West Bank, focusing on Israeli colonist attacks, Israel's plans to annex significant portions of the West Bank, and the occupation authorities' ongoing withholding of Palestinian tax revenues. Both leaders highlighted the impact of the blockade on the region.
Furthermore, Vice President al-Sheikh and Foreign Minister Fidan emphasized the significance of continued collaboration between Palestine and Trkiye. They agreed on the importance of maintaining the international conference on the two-state solution, scheduled for September 22 at the UN headquarters in New York.
