Ramallah: Hussein al-Sheikh, Vice President of the State of Palestine and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), has condemned the recent attacks on Egypt and Jordan, describing them as calculated efforts to destabilize both countries and weaken their influence in the region.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, al-Sheikh emphasized in a press statement on Thursday that these attacks are not spontaneous, but rather part of a strategic campaign aimed at undermining Egypt and Jordan's positions. He noted that both nations are crucial to maintaining regional stability and are currently facing organized attempts to erode their roles.
Al-Sheikh highlighted the critical positions of Egypt and Jordan, pointing out their significant contributions to the Palestinian cause. He criticized those attacking the two countries for ignoring their historical role as protectors against the displacement of Palestinians and as key players in efforts to halt acts of aggression and expand diplomatic recognition for the State of Palestine.
The Vice President expressed gratitude to the leaders and citizens of Egypt and Jordan, acknowledging their consistent support for Palestinian rights, freedom, and independence. He praised their resilience and collaborative efforts with international allies to achieve peace and stability in the region.
