Vice President Al-Sheikh Engages with Samaritan Delegation on Cultural Heritage

Ramallah: Vice President and Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Hussein al-Sheikh, received a delegation from the Samaritan community, headed by priest Husni Wasif, representative of the Samaritan High Priest. The delegation also included the director of the Samaritan Museum, along with several priests and community figures.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the meeting, attended by Ramallah and al-Bireh Governor Laila Ghannam, centered on reinforcing the values of coexistence and preserving the religious, cultural, and historical fabric of Palestinian society. Al-Sheikh highlighted that the diversity of the Palestinian people serves as a model of fraternity and mutual respect. He underscored the significance of safeguarding the religious and cultural heritage of the Samaritan community, viewing it as a fundamental component of Palestinian cultural heritage.

The Samaritan delegation addressed their community's situation and needs, expressing gratitude for the Palestinian leadership's continuous attention to various segments of society. This commitment, they noted, enhances the resilience of the Palestinian people and maintains their religious and cultural identity.
