Ramallah: Vice President and Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Hussein al-Sheikh, welcomed the joint statement issued by France, Germany, Italy, and the United Kingdom. The statement condemned the escalation in settler violence against Palestinians in the West Bank and criticized the ongoing illegal settlement expansion.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Vice President expressed his approval of the European countries' stance through a post on X. He emphasized the significance of the E4 countries' condemnation of the violence and settlement activities. Al-Sheikh highlighted the necessity of this position in safeguarding civilians and called for an end to unilateral measures.
The Vice President further appreciated the European call to cease settlement activities and to release clearance revenues. He underscored the importance of supporting the two-state solution and encouraged international efforts to foster stability and peace in the region.
