Hebron:Washington Human rights organizations in the United States have issued warnings regarding the increasing forced displacement activities conducted by Israeli forces in Hebron. These actions have reportedly led to over 2,000 Palestinians being uprooted from their homes, raising concerns about potential prevention from returning.
According to Palestine news & Information Agency – WAFA – English, the organizations have highlighted that women and children have been forced to leave their residences abruptly due to demolitions targeting numerous homes and commercial establishments. These measures are described as collective punishment inflicted upon the Palestinian population.
The developments in Hebron are reportedly part of a larger campaign aimed at diminishing the Palestinian presence in the occupied West Bank. Since 2025, Israeli military operations are said to have displaced approximately 40,000 Palestinians from areas including Jenin and Tulkarem, making it one of the largest forced displacement events since 1967.
Moreover, the human rights groups have expressed that such practices breach international law, cautioning that military tactics previously used in the Gaza Strip might be applied in West Bank cities as well. They have also criticized the ongoing support from the US and Western nations for Israel, suggesting that the lack of international accountability perpetuates violations against Palestinian civilians.
The organizations have urged the U.S. administration and Congress members to take prompt action to stop forced displacement and demolitions, hold Israeli officials accountable for their actions against Palestinians, and cease the allocation of American taxpayer funds to support Israeli military operations.
