Tubas: Israeli forces Tuesday raided the Tubas Turkish Government Hospital, and detained five medical personnel, including the general director of the hospital.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, the occupation forces surrounded the hospital following a drone shelling that targeted a car at the entrance of Aqaba village earlier, resulting in the deaths of two Palestinians. A third resident was injured in the drone attack.
Forces raided the hospital and detained five medical personnel, including the general director of the hospital, Mohammed Samara. Haitham Hidri, Director General of hospitals at the Palestinian Ministry of Health, reported that Israeli forces took control of the first floor of the hospital and assaulted Mohammad Ghannam, the head of the emergency department, in front of patients.
Israeli forces also shot a patient inside the hospital. Details of his injury remain unknown at this time. Hidri highlighted that this attack is part of a broader pattern of assaults on the
Palestinian healthcare system. He emphasized that the takeover of the hospital’s first floor and the relocation of patients to other floors endangered their lives.
This incident is not isolated. During military assaults on Palestinian cities, occupation forces frequently besiege hospitals, obstruct medical teams, and prevent them from performing their duties. The Ministry of Health stated that the World Health Organization has documented over 600 attacks on healthcare facilities and personnel in the West Bank and Gaza since October 7, 2023.
In late January 2024, Israeli special forces assassinated three young men inside Ibn Sina Hospital in Jenin.
