UPDATE: Nine civilians, including three journalist, killed in Israeli airstrike on school sheltering displaced families in Gaza

GAZA: Nine Palestinians, including three journalists, were killed and several others were injured today in an Israeli airstrike on a school housing displaced persons in Al-Shati refugee camp, west of Gaza City.

Medical sources said that an Israeli strike on Asma School, which has been serving as a shelter for those displaced by the ongoing Israeli aggression, resulted in the killing of several civilians, including three journalists, in addition to several injuries. The three journalists were identified as Sa’ed Radwan, Haneen Baroud and Hamza Abu Salima.

This marks the second time that the school has been targeted by Israeli occupation forces, with the previous attack occurring on the 19th of this month, which also resulted in numerous casualties.

The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 2023 has so far resulted in at least 42,847 documented Palestinian fatalities, with over 100,544 others injured.

Thousands of victims are feared trapped under rubble, inaccessible to emergency and civil defens
e teams due to Israeli attacks.

Israel’s genocidal onslaught continues undeterred despite calls from the United Nations Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
