Post: UNRWA Warns of Catastrophic Conditions in Gaza Amid Prolonged Blockade

Gaza: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has issued a stark warning about the humanitarian situation in Gaza, describing it as "beyond imagination" as the Israeli blockade continues into its ninth week.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, UNRWA has urged the international community to take immediate action to prevent the catastrophe from worsening. The agency emphasized the critical need for an immediate ceasefire and drew attention to the severe impact of the ongoing Israeli military actions and the blockade on the region.

UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini highlighted the deadly consequences of the blockade, describing it as "silently killing" more children and women each day, alongside those affected by direct military strikes. The closure of Gaza's crossings since March 2 has halted the entry of food, medicine, fuel, and other essential goods, leading to a swift deterioration of living conditions for the 2.4 million inhabitants.

The humanitarian crisis has reached a critical point, with international organizations expressing grave concerns over the escalating situation. The blockade has intensified the struggles faced by the residents, compounding existing challenges and creating an urgent need for relief and resolution.
