UNRWA Warns Gaza Becoming a “Wasteland” Amid Israeli Offensive

Gaza: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) warned on Sunday that the Gaza Strip has become a "wasteland" and "completely obliterated" as a result of the escalating Israeli offensive in the region.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, UNRWA stated in a post on X: "Gaza is being completely obliterated. It's becoming a wasteland, and seems to become more and more unfit for human living." The agency highlighted the dire situation, noting that "children are starving. Families are forcibly displaced. People are terrified," and emphasized the urgent need for "political will and decision-making" amid the large-scale Israeli assault.

The statements from UNRWA come as reports indicate a continued rise in civilian casualties, widespread destruction of infrastructure, and the collapse of basic services due to sustained Israeli bombardment. International aid agencies have called for a ceasefire and unimpeded humanitarian access, warning of an impending catastrophe if the situation is not addressed.
