Gaza: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced that only six out of its 22 health centers in Gaza are currently operational. This limited functionality is attributed to the ongoing bombardment in the Gaza Strip, which has severely impacted the region's healthcare infrastructure.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, UNRWA released a statement on Tuesday highlighting the critical shortage of essential medical supplies. The agency emphasized the urgent need for the unimpeded delivery of life-saving assistance to the affected areas.
The humanitarian situation in Gaza has been deteriorating since March 2, when the occupation authorities closed the Gaza Strip's crossings. This closure has prevented the entry of food, relief, medical aid, and goods into the region, exacerbating the crisis.
Since October 7, 2023, actions by the Israeli occupation army have been described as genocide in the Gaza Strip, resulting in more than 173,000 casualties, predominantly among children and women, and leaving over 11,000 individuals unaccounted for.
