UNRWA Reports Israel’s Demolitions in West Bank Leading to Forced Displacement of Palestinians

Jenin: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) reported that Israeli occupation authorities are conducting demolition operations in the northern West Bank, leading to the displacement of Palestinian residents.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, UNRWA stated that demolition activities have resulted in the evacuation of the Jenin, Tulkarm, and Nur Shams camps, with residents being prevented from returning to their homes. The agency highlighted that violence by colonists and the expansion of settlements are contributing factors to the forced displacement of Palestinians from their lands. UNRWA expressed concerns that these actions may facilitate annexation efforts.

UNRWA further reported that Israeli laws targeting the agency have led to the closure of UN schools in the West Bank and the dismissal of international staff, thereby impacting the education and welfare services provided to Palestinian refugees.
