Post: UNRWA Highlights $3,180 Cost for Gaza City Residents to Flee Amidst Israeli Military Operations

Gaza city: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) reported today that the financial burden on residents of Gaza City to flee their homes amidst ongoing Israeli military operations amounts to $3,180, noting a significant scarcity of fuel.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, UNRWA emphasized in a statement that its shelter supplies have been prohibited from entering the region for nearly seven months. The agency highlighted the challenges faced by displaced residents, stating, "Spaces are already overcrowded and hard to find," and underscoring the economic impact of nearly two years of conflict, which has left many without any source of income.

The breakdown of costs provided by UNRWA includes $1,000 for transportation, $2,000 for a family tent, and an additional $180 for renting the land on which the tent is to be erected. The agency made an urgent appeal for international assistance, urging, "Let us bring in our aid."
