Gaza: The Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, warned that the occupied West Bank is experiencing its worst humanitarian crisis since 1967, as a result of Israeli aggression against its camps and the forced displacement of tens of thousands of residents. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Lazzarini stated in a post on X that one year after the start of the Israeli military operation called 'Iron Wall,' 33,000 people remain forcibly displaced from Palestine refugee camps in the northern West Bank. He highlighted that Israeli forces continue to demolish large areas of the camps, further undermining the prospects for recovery of these communities. Lazzarini noted that UNRWA teams are working on the ground to assist newly displaced Palestine refugees who have been pushed into deeper poverty, with no viable alternatives for accessing healthcare, education, and social services. He emphasized that UNRWA co ntinues its work, warning that sustaining its operations requires ongoing political and financial support from UN member states.
