Gaza City: 92% of infants in Gaza are lacking access to basic nutrition. The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in the occupied Palestinian territories has reported a concerning 80% rise in the number of children receiving treatment for malnutrition in April compared to March. This escalating crisis is due to Israel's ongoing blockade and the closure of border crossings, which significantly hinder the delivery of vital supplies. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, OCHA disclosed that 92% of infants aged six months to two years, along with their mothers, are deprived of the minimum essential nutritional needs, exposing them to serious long-term health risks. The report also noted that 65% of Gaza's population lacks access to clean drinking water, further intensifying the already critical humanitarian crisis.
