UNICEF Warns of Rising Child Malnutrition Crisis in Gaza

Gaza: UNICEF spokesperson Kazem Abu Khalaf has issued a warning about the dangerous deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing that 112 children are at risk of malnutrition daily.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the number of children suffering from severe malnutrition has increased by 180 percent since the truce period in February compared to last June.

Abu Khalaf noted that while some children with severe malnutrition remain alive, tens of thousands more are suffering from varying degrees of malnutrition, posing a direct threat to their lives and future. The situation for pregnant women is also dire, with many experiencing severe malnutrition, leading to the birth of children in critical health conditions.
