Beirut: UNICEF announced today that approximately 60,000 people have been displaced from southern Lebanon over the past 24 hours, including 18,000 children.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, UNICEF reported that seven children were killed and dozens injured, with child casualties rising alongside intensified Israeli airstrikes targeting several areas.
The agency further noted that more than 12,000 families have sought shelter in 300 centers opened across various Lebanese regions. Many of these centers have already reached full capacity.
UNICEF highlighted the urgent need for funding, stating that its response plan requires $48 million to assist one million people in need. However, only 16 percent of the required funding has been secured to date.
