Post: UN Rights Chief Volker Trk: Israeli Forces Killed Nearly 1,000 Palestinians Since Gaza Ceasefire

Geneva: United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Trk, stated that Israeli forces have killed almost 1,000 Palestinians since the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip was declared last October, with the vast majority being civilians.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency, Volker Trk addressed the 62nd session of the Human Rights Council, expressing concerns that Israeli authorities are confining Palestinians to an increasingly smaller portion of the territory while imposing restrictions on lifesaving aid.

He further noted that in the West Bank, Israeli forces and settlers are intensifying efforts to dismantle communities and annex land. So far this year, Israeli forces have reportedly killed 57 people, injured nearly 1,300, detained hundreds, and issued 23 land confiscation orders.

Volker Trk also highlighted statements from some senior Israeli officials advocating for the removal of all Palestinians from Gaza and dismissing the feasibility of a viable Palestinian state, describing these actions as completely illegal.
