Gaza: UN rapporteurs condemned on Monday US President Donald Trump's decision to impose sanctions on International Criminal Court (ICC) officials. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the UN rapporteurs stated in a statement that Trump's decision is an assault on the rule of international law, expressing their deep concern over the imposition of sanctions on court personnel and individuals or entities who cooperate with it. They stressed that this decision aims to overturn the international judicial system and will result in financial restrictions, and will weaken the court and thus the investigation of war crimes committed in different parts of the world. The statement pointed out that the judicial authority enjoyed by the International Criminal Court has not been used in a manner contrary to international law, indicating that Trump's decision will significantly undermine the work of the International Criminal Court. The statement stressed that the United States of America "strengt hens the power of perpetrators of war crimes" by trying to punish the International Criminal Court.
