New york: For the second consecutive day, the UN high-level international conference aimed at reaching a peaceful settlement to the question of Palestine and implementing the two-state solution continued on Tuesday evening in New York City, under the joint chairmanship of Saudi Arabia and France. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the conference, which runs until July 30, gathers numerous United Nations member states, international and regional organizations, UN specialized agencies, and civil society groups. Representing the State of Palestine at this significant event is Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa. The conference is being held against the backdrop of severe conditions faced by the Palestinian people due to the ongoing illegal Israeli occupation and its violations. The primary objective is to implement United Nations resolutions and the two-state solution, marking a potential turning point in resolving the Palestinian issue. This initiative follows the UN General Assembly's re solution and the International Court of Justice's ruling, both of which affirm the illegality of the Israeli occupation and underscore the urgent need to end it. The conference aims to initiate a credible and time-bound political process. Furthermore, it seeks to secure firm international commitments to support the Palestinian state politically and economically, advance governmental reform and development efforts, and facilitate Gaza's recovery and reconstruction once the ongoing conflict concludes.
