Post: Two Palestinians Injured in Colonists’ Attack in Southern West Bank

Hebron: Two Palestinians sustained injuries on Tuesday evening following an attack by Israeli colonists in Khallet Ad-Dabi' village, located in Masafer Yatta, south of the occupied West Bank city of Hebron.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, local activist Osama Mkhamra reported that armed colonists assaulted the village. They used batons and sharp objects during the attack, which endangered the lives of the villagers and resulted in one villager sustaining a head injury. The injured individual was subsequently transported to Yatta Government Hospital for treatment.

Local sources detailed that Israeli forces, who were providing protection to the assailants, hindered the passage of an ambulance attempting to transport the injured individual, with intentions of detaining him. Furthermore, the forces detained two others, including a young man who suffered an injury to his hand.

The sources further noted that additional colonists engaged in vandalism by damaging barbed wire along the boundaries of a cultivated land plot and cutting down trees in the same area. Violence by colonists against Palestinians and their properties is a common occurrence in the West Bank and is seldom prosecuted by Israeli authorities.

Such acts of violence by colonists include the arson of properties and mosques, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes. An estimated 1 million Israeli colonists reside in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, actions deemed in violation of international law.
