Jerusalem: The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a strong condemnation following the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem by Itamar Ben-Gvir, the Israeli Minister of National Security.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the ministry released a statement on Tuesday denouncing the actions of the Israeli minister. The statement emphasized that the violations and provocations by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government, which challenge the historical and legal identity of Al-Aqsa Mosque as a site reserved solely for Muslim worship, are not acceptable.
The Turkish ministry further called on the international community to ensure that Al-Aqsa Mosque remains open to Muslims for prayer. It urged the lifting of all restrictions that hinder freedom of worship at the holy sites in East Jerusalem, highlighting this as a collective global responsibility.
