Tunisia Reaffirms Support for Palestinians on 78th Nakba Anniversary

Tunis: The Republic of Tunisia reaffirmed its firm and unconditional support for the Palestinian people on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the Nakba. The Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized this anniversary as a moment to recall the Palestinian people's struggle and resilience in pursuit of their legitimate rights to freedom, independence, and the establishment of a sovereign state.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the commemoration of this anniversary occurs amid ongoing violations by the occupation authorities in the Gaza Strip. These include breaches of the ceasefire agreement, the closure of crossings, the prevention of humanitarian aid entry, and restrictions on the movement of citizens, further deepening the humanitarian crisis in the enclave.

The statement also highlighted escalating violations in the occupied Palestinian Territory, such as the enactment of racist laws and continued plans for land annexation and colonization expansion, which contravene international law and relevant conventions.

Tunisia reiterated its support for the Palestinian people, commending their resilience in the face of the occupation's actions amid a concerning international silence. It noted that the State of Palestine enjoys broad international recognition and stressed the urgent need to grant it full membership in the United Nations.

Tunisia reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Palestinian people's right to self-determination, the restoration of their legitimate rights, and the establishment of an independent state, with Jerusalem as its capital.
