Trkiye’s Araban Garlic Ranks Among World’s Top 5 Varieties

Gaziantep: Trkiye's Araban garlic, a notable product from Gaziantep and registered by the EU, has been recognized as one of the top five garlic varieties worldwide according to the TasteAtlas platform. This platform specializes in providing information on local foods, beverages, and restaurants, officials announced on Monday.

According to Anadolu Agency, Hasan Altun, head of the Araban Chamber of Agriculture and the Araban Garlic Producers Union, revealed that the ranking includes 17 types of garlic. Altun highlighted that garlic varieties from various countries, including France, Italy, Spain, and China, featured in the list, with Araban garlic securing the fifth position.

He further stated that Araban garlic significantly contributes to both the national and regional economy. Altun also mentioned that China's Jinxiang garlic topped the list, followed by Spain's Ajo Morado de Las Pedroneras in second place and Trkiye's Taskopru garlic in third.
