The Iranian Red Crescent announced on Monday that three explosions occurred in an oil factory in the industrial city of Karmsar, Semnan province, east of Tehran. The Iranian Mehr News Agency reported that four rescue teams immediately went to extinguish the fire caused by the explosions. The agency quoted an official in the Iranian Red Crescent as saying: "Two people in critical condition were transferred to the hospital," adding: "There is no accurate information about the nature of the material and human losses."
