Spain Reaffirms Support for Palestinian Statehood Amid Rising West Bank Violence

Doha: Spain has reaffirmed its support for the establishment of a Palestinian state as violence in the West Bank increases. Spanish Foreign Minister Jos© Manuel lvarez stated that Israeli colonist violence in the region has escalated beyond control.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, lvarez made these remarks during the opening of the 23rd Doha Forum 2025 in Doha, with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, in attendance. lvarez highlighted Spain's commitment to justice for the Palestinian people, despite criticism for recognizing the State of Palestine.

lvarez stressed that a two-state solution is the sole path to achieving peace and stability for both Palestinians and Israelis. He asserted the necessity of establishing an independent Palestinian state, which involves the West Bank and Gaza being governed by a unified Palestinian authority.
