Gilboa:Sick Palestinian prisoners at Israel's Gilboa prison are reportedly experiencing deteriorating health conditions due to ongoing medical neglect and lack of necessary healthcare and treatment.
According to Palestine news & Information Agency – WAFA – English, the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs highlighted the serious health challenges faced by these prisoners. The commission issued a statement on Sunday indicating that the conditions within the prison have not improved and remain unchanged.
The commission cited the case of prisoner Ahmad Nayef, who suffers from back issues due to herniated discs in three vertebrae—specifically, the third, fourth, and fifth vertebrae—as well as migraines and fungal skin infections. Nayef reportedly has not received the necessary medical treatment for his ailments, raising concerns about the potential for his health to worsen if appropriate healthcare continues to be denied.
The commission warned that the lack of essential medical care is exacerbating the suffering of sick prisoners and increasing the risks to their health and lives. It called for immediate medical treatment and necessary examinations to be provided to the affected prisoners without delay.
