Nablus: Several Palestinians Thursday suffocated in an Israeli army raid in the town of Qaryout, south of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, according to local sources.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the occupation forces entered the town, unleashing gunfire and teargas canisters, leading to several civilians suffocating from excessive tear gas inhalation.
The occupation forces conduct raids on Palestinian houses almost daily across the West Bank, claiming to search for 'wanted' Palestinians, which often results in clashes with residents. These raids are conducted without the need for a search warrant, as the military exercises its sweeping arbitrary powers.
Under Israeli military law, army commanders hold full executive, legislative, and judicial authority over the 3 million Palestinians residing in the West Bank. Palestinians have no influence over how this authority is exercised.
