Ramallah: Israeli forces and colonists executed a staggering 23,827 attacks against Palestinians and their properties across various governorates in 2025, as reported by Muayyad Shaaban, the Head of the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission. This marks an unprecedented increase in violations documented within a single year.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, these assaults were categorized into 1,382 attacks on lands and agricultural areas, 16,664 against individuals, and 5,398 on properties. At a press conference detailing these prominent violations, Shaaban highlighted that the Israeli army was responsible for 18,384 of these attacks, colonists for 4,723, and 720 were carried out jointly.
Shaaban characterized 2025 as a year overwhelmed with blood, maps, and resolutions, pointing out that Israeli efforts extended beyond expanding colonial outposts to reshape Palestinian geography, symbolism, and existence. Israeli authorities now control approximately 41% of the West Bank, dominate nearly 70% of Area C, and possess over 90% of the Jordan Valley through a strategic combination of military orders and land expropriation.
He emphasized that these statistics are not merely neutral accounts but represent evidence of a comprehensive political initiative. The report further suggests that these violations occurred openly, supported by a government that regards land as spoils, law as a mere tool, and force as a substitute for legitimacy.
Shaaban elaborated that the report provides not just a numerical overview of the violations but also contextualizes them within their political and moral framework, as a part of a colonial project targeting Palestinian land, people, and memory. The reduction of Palestinian geography to isolated enclaves and the displacement of Palestinians signify that the occupation is now a permanent condition rather than a temporary measure.
