Doha: The Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation (QCSF) announced its 2024-2025 season calendar on Thursday, which will feature the introduction of new sports. The announcement came during the annual conference held under the theme "Sports Inspire Education," where various organizational, administrative, and technical issues were discussed, along with a review of the previous season's achievements. The conference was chaired by General Secretary of QCSF, Rashid Saeed Odaiba, with representatives from universities, higher education institutions, and members of the QCSF Board of Directors in attendance. Odaiba emphasized that Qatar's university sports system is progressing on the right path, continuously reaping the rewards of its efforts and evolving from season to season. He noted that the number of participating educational institutions, both public and private, has reached 19. The new season will introduce several sports for the first time, including chess, e-sports, cross-country running, and swimming. He praised the positive participation of universities and higher education institutions in the International Day of University Sports on September 20, which is one of the official events recognized by UNESCO and the International University Sports Federation (FISU).
