Post: Prime Minister Orders Intensified Oversight in Government Institutions and Governorates

Ramallah: Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa has mandated all relevant authorities to enhance the activities of oversight and inspection committees throughout government institutions and governorates. This directive aims to protect citizens, regulate markets, and ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency, during its weekly session in Ramallah, the Cabinet examined reports highlighting the rise in colonial settler terror crimes against Palestinians and their properties. In the past week alone, Israeli settlers conducted 76 terror attacks targeting 19 Palestinian villages. These attacks resulted in injuries to 19 Palestinians, including six children. Additionally, more than 35 demolition notices were issued by Israeli authorities against Palestinian structures, following the demolition of six facilities.

The Cabinet urged the international community to apply maximum pressure on the occupying authorities to stop plans for constructing new illegal settlement units on Palestinian land in the occupied West Bank. It emphasized that these settlements are illegal under international law and humanitarian law, lacking any legal legitimacy, and represent a blatant violation of relevant international resolutions.

The escalating Israeli violations of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, which have surpassed 3,000 breaches, were also condemned by the Cabinet. It called on the international community and guarantor states to take urgent and decisive action to compel Israel to adhere to the agreement and ensure the regular and adequate entry of humanitarian assistance to meet the citizens' needs.

Further discussions included a revised draft Law on the Right of Access to Information, which is being prepared for submission to the President. The revised draft includes additional amendments introduced after consultations with civil society organizations and relevant institutions, with the participation of the Head of the Palestinian Anti-Corruption Commission.

The Cabinet also reviewed the outcomes of the third meeting of the Board of Directors of the National Commission for Education and Vocational Training. Implementation measures were discussed to activate its programmes, plans, and partnerships. These measures encompass the adoption of the Commission's annual plan and 100-day action plan, activation of Sector Skills Councils, launch of the Renewable Energy Skills Council, support for digital transformation and intergovernmental interoperability, and strengthening of national and international partnerships.

Finally, the Cabinet, as part of the Government's National Programme for Development and Reform, discussed proposed legislative measures aimed at enhancing governance across the transport sector.
