Prime Minister Mustafa Briefs Italian Delegation on Gaza and West Bank Developments

Ramallah: Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa briefed an Italian parliamentary delegation, led by Laura Boldrini, at his office in Ramallah on Thursday. The meeting focused on the latest political and field developments in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the meeting was also attended by Lieutenant General Jibril Rajoub, Secretary of the Fatah Central Committee and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports. Prime Minister Mustafa highlighted efforts to solidify the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and emphasized the State of Palestine's jurisdiction over the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem. He stated that a Palestinian state cannot exist without the Gaza Strip.

Mustafa elaborated on the reconstruction and recovery plan for the Gaza Strip, which includes an implementation program adopted by Arab and Islamic countries, and supported by the international community through the New York Declaration. He mentioned ongoing collaboration with Egypt to organize a reconstruction and recovery conference in Cairo.

The Prime Minister reviewed ground developments in the West Bank, noting the ongoing aggression by the Israeli occupation army and colonists, particularly in the northern West Bank governorates. He highlighted recent attacks on Tubas Governorate and addressed Israeli measures, such as withholding Palestinian tax revenues for six consecutive months, affecting the government's ability to provide services.

Mustafa expressed a desire for a political solution to achieve sustainable peace based on the two-state solution and the establishment of a Palestinian state, aiming to prevent future aggression against Palestinians. He also conveyed appreciation for the Italian people's solidarity with Palestinian rights to freedom, independence, and self-determination.

The Italian delegation affirmed support for the Palestinian people, grounded in international and humanitarian law, and rejected double standards in international relations. They committed to continued international efforts to support Palestinian rights to an independent state, end suffering in the Gaza Strip, and halt colonist attacks and occupation measures in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.
