Ramallah: Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa met on Saturday with a delegation from the Palestinian General Federation of Trade Unions, led by Secretary-General Shaher Saad. The meeting, also attended by Labor Minister Enas al-Attari, focused on the conditions of Palestinian workers and strategies to bolster their resilience amid ongoing challenges.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the discussions centered around the worsening crisis in the labor sector, characterized by decreasing job opportunities, movement limitations, and increasing economic strains. The participants evaluated the Ministry of Labor and the federation's initiatives to enhance employment programs and vocational training to tackle unemployment, safeguard workers' rights, and strengthen resilience.
Mustafa emphasized that the government's approach extends beyond mere crisis management. He highlighted efforts to broaden practical interventions, enhance support programs for workers, and develop social protection mechanisms. These initiatives aim to restore workers' rights and generate new employment opportunities despite the prevailing challenges.
In addition, the Prime Minister underscored the significance of fostering international collaboration, especially with the International Labour Organization, to increase technical support for the labor sector.
