Prime Minister and French Presidential Adviser Discuss Coordination for New York Peace Conference

Ramallah: Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa met with Anne-Claire Legendre, Advisor to the French President for Middle East and North Africa Affairs, to discuss the coordination of efforts for the upcoming international peace conference in New York. The conference, set to occur later this month, will be co-chaired by Saudi Arabia and France.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the meeting also focused on addressing the Israeli aggression against Palestinians and the immediate need for humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. During the discussions, which took place at the Prime Minister's office in Ramallah, Mustafa highlighted the importance of establishing a Palestinian state with unified institutions across the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

The Prime Minister emphasized the necessity of initiating an economic recovery and reconstruction plan for Gaza post-aggression, in collaboration with international partners. He briefed Legendre on the Government's Operations Room for Emergency Interventions in Gaza, which coordinates with both international and local institutions, urging for enhanced coordination to support Palestinian government programs and reform initiatives.

Mustafa also called for increased international pressure to release withheld Palestinian funds and to stop illegal deductions imposed by Israel. In response, Legendre reaffirmed France's support for a ceasefire and ending the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. She reiterated France's commitment to the two-state solution and backing of the Palestinian government's development and institutional reform agenda.
