Ramallah: President Mahmoud Abbas received a booklet issued by the Palestinian Police on Saturday outlining an academic and vocational empowerment program for inmates in Palestinian correctional and rehabilitation centers.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the booklet was presented during a meeting with Palestinian Police Director-General Maj. Gen. Allam al-Saqqa, attended by Brig. Gen. Saleh al-Barghouti, director of the Palestinian Correctional and Rehabilitation Centers.
Al-Saqqa stated that the program, developed in accordance with international standards, includes 16 academic and vocational tracks designed to prepare inmates for their return to society and support their productive reintegration. He emphasized that this initiative is part of broader efforts to enhance the rule of law, protect citizens' dignity, and improve the services offered by correctional and rehabilitation centers.
President Abbas commended the leadership and personnel of the Palestinian Police for their service and reaffirmed his support for programs aimed at advancing justice and rehabilitation.
