President Abbas Praises Qatar’s Support for Palestinian Rights


Ramallah: President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas expressed his appreciation for the supportive statements made by the State of Qatar regarding Palestinian rights, the cessation of war, the halt of annexation, and the prevention of displacement.



According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, President Abbas lauded the efforts of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, for his consistent support of the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights. He also praised the remarks by Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.



Sheikh Mohammed welcomed the initiatives of U.S. President Donald Trump to halt the conflict in Gaza, rejected the annexation of the West Bank, and highlighted Qatar’s priority in ending the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza. He stressed the importance of stopping killings, displacement, and famine, and mentioned that Arab and Islamic countries are making significant efforts to support the Palestinians, ensuring their ability to remain on their land and achieve the two-state solution.



President Abbas noted that these statements are in line with the Palestinian perspective and resonate with the positions of countries working towards ending the conflict and establishing peace in the region and beyond.
