Bethlehem: President Mahmoud Abbas on Friday issued a decision forming an investigation committee into the death of former prisoner Riyad Al-Amour. Al-Amour, 56, a resident of Bethlehem who had been exiled to Egypt, passed away after a prolonged struggle with illness as a result of medical negligence policies in Israeli prisons.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, President Abbas ordered the formation of the committee to investigate medical liability in connection with Al-Amour's death. The decision underscores the gravity of the situation and the need for accountability regarding the treatment of prisoners and the circumstances surrounding Al-Amour's death. The investigation aims to thoroughly examine the medical treatment and conditions Al-Amour faced during his imprisonment, which allegedly led to his deteriorating health.
